Across Five Aprils
Considering that it is the month of April I thought of this book. Across Five Aprils is a story during the Civil War about a young boy growing up from 7 to 12 years old. As one reads this book the plot is interesting but is not the factor that inspires a person. The characters that develop and change by overcoming or falling to trial pull the reader into the book and inspires one to be better.

As the Civil War breaks out the family is torn by one brother, who has seen that many black slaves are more a part of their owners families than slaves, joins the confederates. The plot moves on and it shows the young boy trying to understand the turmoil of persecution to the family and internal strife.

When one finishes the book they are left with an inspiration to be better and almost brings the reader to tears because of the great actions of the characters. The impression that it left on me has made it one of my favorite books.
